Song :   “ Mera Kuch Samaan Tumare pass pada hai” . Film: Ijjajat Year : 1987 Singer:   Asha Bhosale                                                    Written:   Gulzar Music: RD Burman. Sung : Kishore Kumar   This is a popular song from the acclaimed 1987 movie  Ijaazat , directed by  Gulzar , who also wrote the song. In the film, the song takes cue from the poem, Anuradha Patel leaves behind in letter, for her former lover Naseeruddin Shah , asking him to return her things. As he reads on, he finds they are not physical things she wants back, but memories of times spent together. When Gulzar first showed the non-rhyming lyrics to RD Burman, he jokingly complained that Gulzar w...

Song : Musafir hoon yaaron  Year : 1972 Film: Parichay Music: RD Burman Singer :  Kishore Kumar Lyricist : Gulzar The song Musafir hoon yaaron is from the movie Parichay which starred Jeetendra and Jaya bhaduri and was directed by Gulzar himself.  In 1972, RD composed another evergreen gem “Musafir hoon yaaron” for the film “Parichay” when he drove on the streets of Bombay well past midnight along with Gulzar only to come up with this gem. Musafir Hoon Yaaron is a historical song simply because it brought R.D. Burman and Gulzar to work together for the first time. The friendship that followed is among the most legendary in Bollywood. “Once Gulzar and RD met at Rajkamal Studio in Parel, where RD was so busy he had no time even to speak. Gulzar took out a piece of paper out of his pocket and said, ‘Here is the mukhra of a song. Let me listen after the tune is set.’ The mukda “ Musafir hoon yaaron na ghar hai na tikana, muje chalte jaana hai….bas..chalte jaana”  ...

With or without you    Singer :   U2 Band   Year : 1987   Writer and lead singer : Bono     Released in the year 1987 from the album Joshua tree written and sung by the genius Bono. Apparently, a troubled love song, the track's lyrics were inspired by Bono's conflicting feelings about the lives he led as a musician and domestic man. The song is about a woman who he does not want or is afraid to commit. "I can't live With or without you": He can't live with her because of the circumstances thrust upon them and he can't live without her because she's the one he needs and wants to be with. H e can't live ''with or without You'' Meaning her (The Woman) that makes Him feel he's being crucified. This song is one of the most meaningful songs   ever listened to.. The message is fairly simple, but the way that he expresses himself throughout the song is so real, and so full of emotion that you can't h...

Gaadi bula rahi hai ( 1974)

Song:  Gaadi bhula rahi hai   Year :  1974   Movie: Dost   Singer : Kishore Kumar   Writer: Anand Bakshi   Music: Laxmikant Pyaarelal   The Song “ Gaadi bula rahi hai , seethe baja rahi hai” is from the movie “ Dost” starring Dharmendra , Shatrughan Sinha and Hema Malini. This is one of the most philosophical song from Bollywood. May be Anand Bakshi was as intense as the Greek Philosopher Socrates the founder of western philosophy, though Mr Bakshi was only a poet. This is a song that has more significance to me as my father used to work for the Indian Railways for decades and he was in love with trains. This is not just a song but a reality ..Song of life! Such a strong motivational song , may be it should be in the text books. Hindi cinema has a long list of exceptionally gifted poets who have written immortal songs influencing the next generations. There were renowned, established poets contributing as lyricists, wh...

It was released on August 15, 1995, as the second single from the album. Writer Kelly wrote the song after losing close people in his life. [ This song is a dedication or tribute to lost loved ones who have passed away. As sung "you never said goodbye" gives a clue that this person or let's say in this case the girl that Michael is paining for has passed away in some sort of accident. He is dealing with the pain and emotional damage put upon him from this loss. The psychological painful effects circulate in his head and from the optimistic corners of this artistic mind "something whispers in my ear and says". Referring to some sort of paranormal force or angelic spirit being communicating to him. This spirit is there t...
